I like my new dryer for the most part. There are a few things that I don™€™t think are designed as well as my previous GE dryer. The lint catcher is hidden and you can™€™t see when it™€™s time to clean it. The top surface of the dryer is not the same level as the washer and the countertop aside of it. It is not very handy for using to fold laundry. What was the purpose of that change? The sound of the alarm to signal the end of the cycle is very loud. The lowest setting is still loud. Otherwise it has great capacity and dries the clothes well!

So far so good! I love that this new dryer is a little more slim than my previous dryer. And it seems to be drying very well. I am very conscience of drying like for like items when possible and so far everything is drying pretty rapidly. The dryer is very quiet! But beware of that buzzer! It's pretty LOUD! So, I turned it off.

I like the GE dryer capacity and varied features. However the turning dial is EXTREMELY difficult to turn. I had one of the dial replaced as it purchased the warranty, and it still is very tight. The Repairman even commented on how ™€œit is difficult to turn.™€ Even with a NEW dial! I love GE appliances, but I am disappointed with this feature and am told it ™€œis the way it is and can™€™t be changed.™€ I would be happy with a smooth dial function. Instead I have to settle and I™€™m not happy.

There a lot of reasons to give this dryer a 2-star rating. First, it™€™s the loudest machine I have ever owned. Drying sheets should not sound like you™€™re experiencing an earthquake! Also, the lightbulb in the dryer gets so hot I have a 2nd degree burn on my thumb. I™€™m not sure if it™€™s wired incorrectly and is lit up while the door is closed or what is happening but it doesn™€™t light up when the door is open! I reached in right after opening the door to see if maybe the bulb was loose and burned my hand. I would not purchase this appliance again.

the door on my gas dryer is hard to close, it's noisy when closing, the entire dryer moves back its so easy to push also the knob where you decide what cycle you want is very hard to turn I thought it was going to break! But dries great!!

Really Really Really disappointed. There is a serious design flaw in the lint-trap system. The plastic grate that allows the air to flow into the lint screen continuously clogs. I've never had this happen in the 50 years that I have been cleaning/drying clothes. Constantly plugged solid with with lint while drying regular clothes (2 old retired folks). And, to make matters worse, it allows lint through the lint screen and it accumulates on the blower wheel. You have to remove the front of the dryer to clean the blower wheel, and it DOES NOT go back together easily. Again, regular people, regular clothes. This should not happen. Fire waiting to happen.

Machine is extremely loud as if it has loose drum when tumbling. There is no door gasket - which may be the reason it is so noisy. The closure is not smooth and requires some effort. Closure also loud. Also, it seems to take longer to dry than a similar model that it replaced.

The lint filter does NOT catch much lint, allowing for a VERY LARGE ACCUMULATION of LINT in a very short time frame in the area where the lint trap sits. This is a FIRE HAZARD. The vent and dryer were professionally installed and has minimal bends. It is difficult to remove these large lint balls. Should have had my 15 year old dryer repaired again. CAVEAT EMPTOR!

It is a basic, cheaply-made clothes dryer. To be seen how long it will last. My last clothes dryer was a Sears Roebuck brand and had heavy doors; lasted 20+ years. This dyer has no weight to it. Don't expect much from it. Gone are the days when good old American products were American made TO LAST.

The GE dryer is what I would call ™€œ old school™€. But that™€™s what is was looking for. I had an expensive LG dryer that the ventilation in the back of the dryer was very small and this caused my dryer to run very hot. It ruined many clothes, sheets and blankets. Everyday was a new adventure see if it would ruin my clothes. It left a black melted mess on my clothes. I was very happy to replace with this dryer. The ventilation is awesome! Now I have to get used to a dryer that dries like it should

Very disappointed. Had a GE dryer bought in 1999. Great dryer. New dryer takes FOREVER to dry clothes, and it cost $850! Seems very inconsistent. It™€™s going to wear out faster because it™€™s runs more. It takes an extra hour, at least, to finish weekly laundry.
